![]() ![]() The greatest minds the world has known didn’t do exactly what the critics wanted actually that’s how critics were born – a full time career made from commentary on genius, wishing to come close to their stardom.īut alas yes I too am a critic I guess, perhaps not as critical as you would like but nonetheless here I am offering my five-cents worth on Ellie Goulding’s latest offering which frankly I cannot find fault with. ![]() Secondly the title should offer at least a glimpse as to what is going on? This is an album of experimentation, just because Ellie’s experiments are all quite capable of making the charts doesn’t make them any less an experiment than you would like. It is like complaining that a person who has shown an aptitude for science has outgrown their teenage-year chemistry set and has now “lost themselves” because they are no longer experimenting in mom’s kitchen but at CERN. Yes she is now working with new producers, perhaps best known for their chart successes, but surely this is to be expected? When you reach this level of international recognition these are the people who will want to work with you. Whilst most reviews I’ve read have slated Ellie Goulding for “losing” herself in pursuit of chart topping stardom, I disagree. This quirky album has blown my expectations and even has a hint of Bollywood flavor so it definitely delivered. ![]() She clearly stole her album title from my blog, so it makes sense to write a review of Ellie Goulding’s new album Delirium.
